AliExpress CDN Images: The Instant GMC Suspension Trigger

This is the fastest way to get suspended from Google Merchant Center: have product images served from ae01.alicdn.com. It's irrefutable proof of AliExpress dropshipping, and Google flags it with 98% confidence — the highest severity level.

What Are CDN Images?

CDN stands for Content Delivery Network. When you import products from AliExpress (via DSers, Oberlo, or manual import), the images are hosted on AliExpress's CDN servers. The image URLs look like:

  • ae01.alicdn.com/kf/xxxxx.jpg — AliExpress
  • cbu01.alicdn.com/img/xxxxx.jpg — Alibaba/1688
  • img.kwcdn.com/xxxxx.jpg — Temu
  • images.cjdropshipping.com/xxxxx.jpg — CJ Dropshipping

When Google crawls your product pages, it sees these image URLs. It doesn't even need to analyze the image content — the URL alone proves the source.

Why This Is BLOQUANT (Blocking)

Unlike other dropshipping signals that are probabilistic (maybe it's dropshipping, maybe not), CDN images are deterministic proof. There's no legitimate reason for a store to serve product images from AliExpress's CDN unless those products come from AliExpress.

Google assigns this a 95-98% confidence score — the highest of any single signal. One image from alicdn.com can trigger a suspension review of your entire account.

How to Check

Export your products as CSV from Shopify. Search the "Image Src" and "Variant Image" columns for:

  • alicdn.com
  • kwcdn.com
  • cjdropshipping.com
  • spocket
  • printify

Any match = immediate fix needed.

How to Fix

  1. Download every affected image to your computer
  2. Upload them to Shopify (Content → Files)
  3. Update your product CSV with the new Shopify CDN URLs (cdn.shopify.com/s/files/...)
  4. Reimport the CSV
  5. Verify by exporting again — search for any remaining supplier CDN URLs

Shopify's CDN (cdn.shopify.com) is completely clean. Once your images are there, Google has no CDN-based evidence of dropshipping.

The Image Content Still Matters

Moving images to Shopify's CDN removes the URL fingerprint, but Google also does reverse image searches. If the same image appears on 50 other stores, that's a separate signal. For your top 30-40 products, consider adding at least one unique photo — even a simple lifestyle shot or an image with a slight crop/color adjustment changes the visual fingerprint enough.
